Our working map connects technical needs with institutions, facilities, industrial ecosystems, places and the mechanisms through which a project might use them. The useful connection is between a bottleneck and the capability that could resolve it — including the next handoff.
It supports national capability discovery and candidate multi-node routes. This public page explains the method; project-specific research and matching remain private.
What we map
The search follows the missing capability across several layers:
- Research institutions, scientific infrastructure, major scientific facilities and instruments.
- Laboratories, testing, metrology, certification and engineering validation capability.
- Pilot and mid-scale engineering, manufacturing scale-up and industrial technology public-service platforms.
- Clinical and non-clinical research infrastructure and the institutions responsible for access.
- Manufacturing clusters, process expertise and supplier ecosystems.
- Application scenarios, declared technical demand and specific industrial bottlenecks.
- Industrial parks, physical landing infrastructure, relevant policy and institutional mechanisms.
Move the function toward the capability
People have always moved toward opportunity. Companies can too. A company does not have to move as one object. Headquarters can remain abroad while one test, research collaboration, pilot run, clinical programme or manufacturing function connects to China.
An illustrative route might link research in one city, a specialised instrument elsewhere, pilot engineering at another platform and manufacturing in a different cluster. Commercial activity, logistics and legal presence can have their own locations. This is a design pattern, not a completed client case.
CyberNomad maps the route rather than forcing the company into one place. A research instrument may be in one city, a pilot platform in another and a clinical partner somewhere else. The organisation can stay where it is while the relevant experiment, process or function connects to the capability it needs. Every additional node must justify its coordination cost, timing and handoffs. Sometimes the best route is one partner and one experiment.
How a project becomes a route
Need first. Node second. Entity later.
- Identify the actual bottleneck and the next measurable milestone.
- Define the capability that would change the outcome, compared with the current alternative.
- Search relevant Chinese research, validation, pilot, clinical, industrial and institutional layers.
- Build candidate routes, including dependencies, handoffs and any China-side need the team could answer.
- Verify the actual institution, platform, facility, supplier or programme against the project.
- Coordinate only after the route survives verification: agree the next experiment, responsible parties, budget, deadline and evidence for continuing.
National discovery. Regional operating depth.
China Capability Discovery identifies potentially relevant capabilities across the country. It does not imply the same local execution knowledge in every province.
Beijing / Jing-Jin-Ji remains our deepest operating geography: the strongest combination of policy, institutional, spatial, administrative and practical operating intelligence. Hainan remains specialist operating coverage for selected functions.
Elsewhere, discovery can establish a candidate and a verification question. A fuller route depends on confirming the counterpart, access and local operating conditions. The proposed scope makes that distinction explicit.
Public intelligence and live project verification
Public pages provide a sourced baseline and an editorial review date. A live project does not rely on the page alone. Material policies, application windows, platform status, facility access and counterpart readiness are re-verified before they enter a recommendation.
We record what a source establishes, what remains unresolved and who can confirm it. If a material question cannot be confirmed, it remains an open dependency; it is not promoted into an actionable recommendation.
- A published policy measure is not automatically an open application window.
- A listed facility is not automatically available to this project.
- An accredited laboratory must still match the method, scope, sample and schedule.
- A manufacturing cluster is not proof of a particular supplier’s process capability.
- A clinical institution listing is not proof of capacity, access or willingness.
Two public examples of the evidence layer
China’s Science and Technology Resource Sharing Network provides a discovery surface for scientific facilities and instruments. It helps locate a candidate resource; the host still needs to confirm technical suitability, access terms and availability.
CNAS publishes accreditation information and guidance on checking recognised laboratory capabilities. Its guidance points readers to the certificate annex and relevant testing standards. That evidence helps examine scope; it does not replace qualification for a particular project.
These are examples of public evidence sources, not partnerships, endorsements or privileged access. The primary links below let you inspect the basis.
China-side needs matter too
The fit can run in both directions. A foreign team may need a Chinese testing platform while a Chinese organisation has a specific application problem that the team’s technology could help solve. We examine the contribution and incentive on both sides.
- Declared specific need: an identified organisation asks for a defined technical result.
- Official industrial bottleneck: a public authority identifies a concrete process or capability problem.
- Public application opportunity: a stated scenario offers a possible setting for testing or deployment.
- Inferred strategic relevance: our analytical hypothesis, clearly distinguished from a declared need.
Why this is not a supplier directory
A directory answers who is listed. The graph asks what the project needs, which capability could change the result, how access works and what must connect next. A manufacturer may be one node; a scientific instrument, validation platform or application partner may be another.
The deliverable is a decision and a route, supported by verification. Implementation can follow under an agreed scope.
Bring the bottleneck
Email a short, non-confidential outline: what your technology does, its stage, the next milestone, what is blocking it and who can discuss the project.
