A policy-backed rural innovation cluster with operator workshops, themed courtyards and a verified shared-office component.

## Why it belongs on the map

Dongtai is the strongest verified remote-work signal in this atlas. In 2025 reporting, the village had 16 projects and 11 operator workshops spanning shared office, art, tea, health, technology study and a library, plus five themed courtyards.

It is still emerging. The opportunity is to enter while the operator network is forming, but that also means fewer assumptions about footfall and services.

A small remote team, research retreat or workshop that values a curated village platform over a fully mature consumer market.
