# Notes from the field.

Short essays, project reflections and working observations from the space between policy, technology and ordinary life in China.

## A less formal desk

The guides and policy pages are structured, sourced and maintained as reference material. This desk is for a different kind of writing: field impressions, questions that do not yet deserve a guide, and reflections on building across institutions, villages and borders.

A note may begin with a drive beyond Beijing, a newly published policy, an exchange with a village committee or a practical surprise encountered while building CyberNomad China. Where a claim needs a source, the source will still be identified; where the writing is interpretation, it will be presented as interpretation.
